Where Does Inspiration Come From?

Where does inspiration come from? The answer for me is anywhere and everywhere. A prime example has to do with the photo above. It’s a close up shot of the fabric of a sweater I am currently knitting. I’ve applied a Prisma filter to it. As I am knitting with this yarn, a hand-painted colorway using four different colors, the pinks and oranges that were created when two or more colors combined were really speaking to me. That led me to experimenting with combining a few colors together using different proportions of dye. The result is my new color collection coming out next week - The FIRE! Color Collection.

And here is another example. I was watching Carnival Row and couldn’t stop looking at Tourmaline’s gorgeous blue hair!! So I paused the show and took a photo, as I have done a bazillion times. Ibiza was the result of that inspiration.

You never know where your inspiration may come from. The more you look, the more you see, the more you see, the better you get at looking. And you open yourself up to all kinds of amazing things. Keep looking, my friends. Find those things that give you inspiration and bring you joy.
