What Can You Knit with WooLin?
Before I dive into the different designs you can knit with this amazing yarn, let me tell you a bit about why I love this yarn so much.
WooLin is a single ply fingering weight yarn, consisting of 90% Superwash merino and 10% linen. That little bit of linen really gives this yarn its character. It creates a beautiful flecking effect, giving the yarn depth and interest. Surprisingly, that small amount of linen helps create a fabric suitable for multiple seasons. I’ve worn a couple of my sweaters on fairly warm days and was very comfortable. The superwash merino absorbs the dye beautifully and I can get deep color saturation. When wet blocked, the merino blooms, the stitches fall into place, and you have a soft, drapey fabric that feels wonderful against your skin.
Now let’s talk about the different designs you can make with this yarn. I went back through my design library and found a few older designs that would work great with it, as well as the four new ones I’ve created.
First up: ARIA
ARIA is an oversized, loose-fitting, sleeveless, lace topper. ARIA is worked in the round from the bottom up then divided and worked flat to the shoulders. ARIA can be knit using a 3 color ombre’ set, colorblock set or in a single color. ARIA is a fun to knit, easy to wear, warm weather piece, worn casually over a cami and a pair of shorts, or over a tank dress. I used three different colors for the sample for a bold colorblock effect. You could knit this using one color, or you could use one of my Ombré sets. You can find the kits here:
Another new design using WooLin is Gold Beach. Gold Beach is a boxy tee with a shirttail hemline and features a center lace panel on the front. It is knit flat in two pieces from the bottom up with short row shaping at the hem and shoulders. I also put together kits for Gold Beach:
And here are a few of my older designs that would work great with WooLin:
TILT would also be lovely knit in WooLin
AND… I have two new sweaters coming out next week using this amazing yarn. SILETZ and SILETZ V. Stay tuned for more details.
I hope this was helpful and hope that you fall in love with this yarn as much as I have. You can find the kits, Ombré sets and individual skeins of WooLin on my website.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about this yarn.
Happy knitting!!
